CarSpecialist ("we", "us") provides an operations tool for auto repair and towing shops. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. Questions? Email investorcars@gmail.com.
Information we collect
- Account information — the email address, name, and password of shop staff who create an account.
- Shop & vehicle data — the vehicles, jobs, notes, tasks, custom fields, and team messages you enter into the app.
- Customer contact information — names and email addresses that a shop enters for its own customers, so the shop can send them service updates.
- Identifiers — account and shop IDs used to operate the service.
CarSpecialist does not collect your device location and does not use your data to track you across other companies' apps or websites.
How we use information
- To operate the board, messaging, intake forms, and other core features.
- To send service notification emails that a shop initiates to its own customers.
- To provide support and keep the service secure.
Messaging
Email messages are sent by shop staff to that shop's own customers (for example, "your vehicle is ready"). Delivery is handled by our email service provider. We do not send marketing messages on a shop's behalf.
Service providers
We use Supabase (database, authentication, and hosting of backend functions) and an email delivery provider. These providers process data only to deliver the service.
Data retention & deletion
We keep shop data for as long as the account is active. A shop owner can request deletion of their shop and its data by emailing investorcars@gmail.com. We will delete or anonymize the data within 30 days, except where we must retain it to comply with law.
Security
Data is protected with encryption in transit and access controls (row-level security) so each shop can only access its own data.
Children
CarSpecialist is a business tool and is not directed to children under 13.
Changes
We may update this policy and will revise the "last updated" date above.
